Spring Break Riding Camp

Camp Doublecreek's Spring Break Riding Camp will be on
Tuesday, March 12.

  • AM Session: 8:30 - 12:00
  • PM Session: 12:30 - 4:00

By participating in the riding camp, riders will receive lessons in both mounted (on the horse) and unmounted activities, arts & crafts, archery, and a variety of other camp games. Mounted activity will focus on safety, balance of the rider, and riding skills including how to communicate with your horse to turn, stop, and move forward. Each rider’s skill level will be assessed and lesson activity will be designed to progress each rider. Unmounted activity will focus on safety, horse care, tacking, untacking, and tack care.  Space is limited to 15 riders and is only available for riders 7 years and older.

Tuition for the camp is $60.  Payment is due in full at the time of registration.

Transportation will not be provided.  You will need to drop your rider off at the gray house between 8:30-9:00 am for the morning session or 12:30-1:00 for the afternoon session.  Activities will run from 8:30-12:00 or 12:30-4:00 and will include a snack time.  Pick-up will be at 12:00 pm for the AM session and 4:00 for the PM session from the gray house.

Summer Riding

During our summer riding camp, riders will receive lessons in both mounted (on the horse) and unmounted activity, arts & crafts, archery,  and a variety of other camp games. Mounted activity will focus on safety, balance of the rider, and riding skills including how to communicate with your horse to turn, stop, and move forward. Each rider’s skill level will be assessed and lesson activities will be designed to progress each rider. Unmounted activity will focus on safety, horse care, tacking, untacking and tack care.  Space is limited to 20 riders a week and is only available for riders 8 years and older.

Our riding camp will run, Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. during the following weeks:

  • June 3 - 7
  • June 10 - 14
  • June 17 - 21
  • June 24 - 28
  • July 8 - 12
  • July 15 - 19
  • July 22 - 26

Tuition is $300 per week. A $50 non-refundable deposit is due at the time of registration. The remaining balance of $250 will be charged 2 weeks prior to the start of the specific camp week.

Transportation will NOT be provided. You will need to drop your rider off between 8:00-8:15 a.m. Activities will run from 8:15-12:00 with a snack time included. Pickup will be at 12:00 p.m.

Riders participating in horseback riding are encouraged to bring their own ASTM-SEI certified equestrian helmet (not a bike helmet). Helmets will be provided if your rider does not have one.  Riders MUST wear closed-toe shoes (boots are recommended).

Fall, Winter & Spring Riding

Our goal is to teach excellent horsemanship in a safe and fun environment. Riders will participate in mounted (on the horse) and unmounted activity tailored to progress each participant in learning to safely tie, groom, saddle and bridle, mount and ride a horse. Lessons are designed to progress each rider, building on their individual skills to safely enjoy connecting with and learning from the horses.
