Our goal is to teach excellent horsemanship in a safe and fun environment. Riders will participate in mounted (on the horse) and unmounted activity tailored to progress each participant in learning to safely tie, groom, saddle and bridle, mount and ride a horse. We offer group or private lessons designed to progress each rider, building on their individual skills to safely enjoy connecting with and learning from the horses.

Every camper attending summer camp at DC Adventures will have the opportunity to meet and spend time with our amazing horses! For campers who want even more, including time in the saddle, families can add DC Riding for $100/week.
Available to campers entering 1st grade and above, the DC Riding add-on includes both mounted and unmounted activities every day. Space is limited each week, so be sure to reserve your rider’s spot!
Mounted activities focus on horse and rider safety, balance, and developing riding skills. Riders will learn how to communicate with their horse to turn, stop, and move forward. Each rider’s skill level will be assessed, and lessons will be tailored to help them build confidence and progress throughout the week.
Unmounted activities focus on horse safety and care, including grooming, tacking, untacking, and proper tack care.
Riders are encouraged to bring their own ASTM-SEI certified equestrian helmet (not a bike helmet). Helmets will be provided for campers who do not have one.
